P and K Recruitment sponsors Headteacher's 10k run!!
Category: News, Posted on: 25.03.2009We pleased to announce P and K Recruitment are sponsoring a 10k run that Gordon Phillips, Principal of The Meadows Sports College in Oldbury is taking part in on Sunday 29th March 2009.
Gordon Phillips is competing in a 10Km run in Carterton, Oxfordshire. The School urgently need to purchase Track Suits (£800 approximately) to enable their students to participate in the Special Olympics (Leicester Games 2009) and they need to buy specialist equipment to enable improved curriculum access for their students. The Meadows Sports College do their best to help improve the quality of experiences for all students in the 11-19 age range.
All of the students have cognition and learning difficulties, which may include severe communication, and sometimes behavioural difficulties. Many of the pupils have a range of complex needs, such as additional autism, cerebral palsy and various medical conditions, (some of which are acute and life threatening), in addition to their primary difficulty. Their Therapeutic Provision caters for the most vulnerable young people who have often experienced severe social & emotional difficulties, disaffection etc.
Last year Gordon raised nearly £500 for the school which was spent on various equipment for the Playground, Library, and our Sensory Room also got some new equipment.
